Opioid Abatement Funds

SWODA would like to share some great news with you.  SWODA’s application to the OK Opioid Abatement Board has been approved!

There are a few new conditions we have yet to meet, but we anticipate that those are achievable.  This is the first year that abatement funds have been available, with plans to offer them over the next 15 years.

A huge thank you to the SWODA Board and Debora Glasgow for encouraging us to pursue this opportunity. Special thanks to Lisa Church, SWODA’s grant writer, for all her hard work putting the application together. And to the SUPTR Division staff (Kendra, Cheryl, Ashley, Dena, Tangela, and DeShawna) for the brainstorming, research, and patience.

We also congratulate Altus/Jackson County, as their application has also been approved! Staci Kirby has been vital to that effort, so well done to you Staci!

Congratulations to these successful applicants from the Panhandle, Western and Southwestern OK.

SWODA has prevention grants in many of these Counties and local partners from these areas, so it is wonderful to see them addressing the Opioid epidemic.

You’ll soon be hearing about our next steps and plans to implement the proposed plan.  Many of you will play vital roles in its success.

Thank you,
