South Western Oklahoma Development Authority’s “Team SWODA” partnered with Weatherford Middle School Builders Club and Sentinel High School FCCLA to collect 400 coats this winter.

The coats were distributed to adults and children in need through various schools and organizations in Beckham, Custer, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa, Roger Mills and Washita Counties.

“Team SWODA” is a community service effort developed in 2011 by SWODA employees who wanted to make a difference in their area.

“We appreciate the partnership with Weatherford and Sentinel Schools this year,” said Jana Harris, SWODA Director of Community and Economic Development. “The effort they put forth helped us to double the amount of coats collected and distributed to those in need.”
