SWODA Seeks 9-1-1 GIS Specialist

The South Western Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA) administers the regional 9-1-1 system for six southwest Oklahoma counties. SWODA seeks a highly motivated, skilled, self-starting professional to fill the key position of 9-1-1 GIS Specialist. The primary responsibility is the maintenance and advancement of the regional 911 Geographic Information System (GIS) to support the 11 public safety answering points in the region. The 9-1-1 GIS Specialist is responsible for data quality control and quality assurance for all work products. This position should also work to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the region’s rural addressing system, and possess excellent cartography skills to create and publish paper and electronic map products. The ideal candidate must have high standards for detail and accuracy, as well as be innovative and resourceful. A complete job description can be downloaded in the attachments below.

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelors degree in GIS, geography, applied technology, or related field; Two years or more of hands-on GIS experience using ESRI software is preferred; Specialized experience or skill may substitute for specific education or experience requirements

Starting Salary:  $36,000 - $39,000 annually (depending upon qualifications), plus benefits.
