SWODA Seeking Ombudsman Supervisor

The South Western Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA) is seeking a qualified individual as Ombudsman Supervisor to coordinate and implement the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program.  Receives, investigates and resolves complaints on behalf of residents of nursing home, assisted living, and residential care facilities. Maintains confidential files and records.  Recruit, screen, train, and supervise Ombudsman Volunteers to manage in-house complaints in individual facilities. Must be objective, able to maintain cooperative working relationships and confidentiality, and to communicate with people who are aged and physically disabled. Experience in long-term care settings helpful. Successful candidate will have a minimum education requirement of a baccalaureate degree with major coursework in social work, health, gerontology, general social sciences or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of full-time paid experience in such areas as community organization, public health, social work or related field for each year of the required education with maximum substitution of four years. Applicants can complete a SWODA application and submit a resume at the Workforce Oklahoma Office in Clinton or Altus, or may print out an application at www.swoda.org and e-mail or mail application and resume to SWODA, attention Marsha Shelton.  Best-qualified applicants, based on review of application documents received, will be interviewed by appointment only.
