South Western Oklahoma Development Authority Area Agency on Aging (SWODA AAA) ombudsman supervisors, Christi Christian, RN, and Samantha Lankford-Jones have begun to provide presentations to interested people/groups in areas of caregiving and respite in addition to the ombudsman program, resident rights and abuse and neglect. Ombudsman supervisors welcome the opportunity to present to family councils, caregiver support groups, senior centers and civic organizations as well as other interested parties. The first of several planned community sharing opportunities for caregivers and family members of nursing home residents to come together to gain support and information has been scheduled for Thursday, October 28, 2010, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place on south Highway 6 in Elk City.
