A five-session entrepreneur training begins Thursday, September 8, for prospective, new and established business owners. Sessions are each week from 7–8:30 p.m. at the Southwest Technology Center in Altus and are free to the public. Participants need to register online at swoda.org/entrepreneurship-training.
The training is a special project the Economic Development Administration, South Western Oklahoma Development Authority, Southwest Technology Center and the Altus Chamber. Funding for the sessions is through a grant from the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration.
Topics for each session are as follows:
Thursday, September 8: Starting or growing your own business.
Thursday, September 15: Keys to writing a winning business plan and obtaining financing.
Thursday, September 22: Understanding finance and keeping smart records.
Thursday, September 29: Advertising on Social Media
Thursday, October 6: Customer Service, Training Your Staff, Balancing Personal and Work Time.
