By Associated Press OKLAHOMA CITY — Chesapeake Energy Corp. is offering to match up to $1 million in donations to the Regional Food Bank through the end of January. Food Bank Executive Director Rodney Bivens said the $1 million match offer is the largest the charity has ever received. Bivens said this is one of the most challenging years for the Food Bank. Its food supply is at a five-year low and it's seen a decline in donations. Chesapeake CEO Aubrey McClendon said in a statement he hopes the donation will challenge others in the community to donate to the food bank. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is a private nonprofit that distributes food products and other goods to more than 800 schools and food pantries in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties. |
